Samsung Galaxy Fold, the innovative smartphone, walked into the market in India and has already seen a fantastic response. According to IANS, Samsung has already sold 1600 pieces of the smartphone within 30 minutes of opening their pre-bookings.
Reports declare that the customers who pre-booked the phones paid the entire amount of the smartphone, i.e., ₹1,64,999. The phone will be delivered to the customers by October 20, and there will also be dedicated experts available 24X7.
For now, Samsung has cut off the sales since it sold the initial stock of 1600 units that were produced. The customers will also receive a year-long “Infinity Flex Display Protection” with their smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold
The Smartphone, which is to be finally launched in India on October 20, 2019, was initially launched in February. The smartphone faced a lot of criticism from early reviewers for its weak design. Nevertheless, Samsung made some crucial changes to the design and relaunched the device recently. The key feature of the Galaxy Fold is the foldable display that allows users to convert a regular looking phone into a tablet-like device.
Samsung Galaxy Fold has two displays- front display, which has 4.6 inches Super AMOLED panel with HD+(840X1960px) resolution, and 21:9 ratio. The second display is a 7.3 inches Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED panel with QXGA+(1536X2152px) resolution, and 4.2:3 ratio.
The Galaxy Fold runs on Android 9 Pie with a little tweaked One UI skin on top that supports continuity of app on the foldable screen. The Smartphone is powered by octa-core SoC which gets boosted by 12GB of RAM in the device. The smartphone has 512GB of internal storage and supports external microSD card.
Talking about camera setup, Galaxy Fold has Six cameras in total. A triple camera setup on the rear side of the phone that comprises a primary camera of 16MP with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, the secondary camera of 12 MP with f/2.4 that supports OIS. It also has a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 and OIS that enables 2X optical zoom. On the other hand, the front-facing dual camera setup includes 10MP primary camera with an f/2.2 lens and an 8MP secondary RGB depth-sensing camera with an f/2.2 lens. The final camera on the cover is the single selfie camera shooter that is 10MP with an f/2.2 lens.
The Galaxy Fold is claimed to have a dual battery setup that combining makes a 4380mAh and supports wireless charging in the device. The phone also supports reverse wireless charging. The smartphone is available in four color variants- Cosmos Black, Space Silver, Astro Blue, and Martian Green.
